Speaker: Melissa Waugh, Senior Vice President, Instructional Design Senior Manager, Wells Fargo Instructional Design Services
Melissa Waugh began her career at Wells Fargo Advisors (then A.G. Edwards & Sons) in 1993. She currently serves as Instructional Design Senior Manager for the Instructional Design Services. She is based in St. Louis, Missouri.
In her role, Melissa leads a team of instructional designers and their managers. Together the team creates learning solutions to support a wide variety of Wells Fargo team members in various positions and stages of their career growth. The team’s work spans across the business lines, supporting both client-facing roles, such as private bankers and mortgage consultants, to critical support roles, such as line-of-business call centers and operational processing areas. Melissa’s team leads the creation of learning from initial consulting and assessment of critical needs, to development of curriculum strategies and solutions.
Prior to taking on her current role in October 2011, Melissa worked in various Learning & Development roles within Wells Fargo Advisors and its predecessor firms, including leadership of large-scale systems conversions tied to merger and integration activity. She also spent several years designing and developing training for various brokerage job roles, along with facilitating Business Writing Skills training classes. The first few years of
Melissa’s career included roles in Mutual Fund Operations, Securities Operations and Corporate Communications.
Melissa holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from the University of Missouri – Columbia, along with a Master of Arts in Media Communications from Webster University. She regularly volunteers and supports fundraising for a few local animal shelters. Melissa resides in St. Louis with her family, two-legged and four-legged alike.
